5 Top Brampton Neighbourhoods for Families

With new home developments popping up in Brampton on a daily basis, it can be hard to keep track of which neighbourhoods are ideal for your family’s needs. Luckily, our team of real estate experts at Century 21 Millennium have lived and worked in the Brampton area for years, and we’ve scoured the city looking for the best places to live with young families in mind. Here are our top 5 picks!

brampton downtown

1) Downtown Brampton

Whether you want to be near all of your favourite shops and restaurants, or are looking to take advantage of all that downtown living has to offer, Downtown Brampton is right up your alley. The area offers walkability, top-of-the-line shopping and entertainment venues, as well as plenty of kid-friendly parks and amenities nearby. It’s also an easy drive to get into Toronto for a night out on the town or a concert at Air Canada Centre.

2) Bramalea

Located west of Highway 407, between Rutherford Road and Queen Street East, Bramalea is a great place to live because it’s right next to some of Brampton’s best attractions. First off, there’s The Shops at Mayfield – an outdoor shopping center that houses tons of awesome shops and restaurants. Not far from Mayfield is Great Lakes Square – a massive indoor mall with all kinds of stores that you can spend hours exploring. Of course, while those two shopping centers are excellent in their own right, they are also walking distance from Bramalea City Centre. This enormous mall is jam-packed with pretty much every kind of store under one roof – even luxury retailers like Tiffany & Co.!

3) Credit Valley / Chinguacousy

This neighbourhood is one of Brampton’s best-kept secrets. There are family-friendly amenities aplenty, like Strathaven Ravine and Long Branch Park. If you love sports, there’s lots to do here: baseball, soccer, hockey and lacrosse leagues. Additionally, Credit Valley is home to many great schools: Chinguacousy Secondary School (home of our graduating class of 2018), St. Edmund Campion Catholic Secondary School, Fergusson Public School and others. And did we mention that it has two shopping plazas? You’ll never be bored in Credit Valley!

4) Heart Lake

By far one of Brampton’s most family-friendly neighbourhoods, Heart Lake is home to many young families. What’s not to love about a community with free summer movie nights and Friday morning outdoor yoga? With more than five elementary schools within its boundaries, it’s no surprise that it attracts so many parents with school-aged children. This area is also full of smaller parks, including a playground in every single community.

5) Forest Hill / The Gore

Forest Hill is one of Brampton’s most prestigious and high-end neighbourhoods. The area has a large amount of tree coverage, making it feel more like a community than part of a city. Despite being known as one of Brampton’s wealthiest neighborhoods, Forest Hill still boasts a number of highly sought after schools. With both Mother Teresa Elementary School and St Thomas Aquinas Secondary School in Forest Hill, students are able to attend top-notch learning institutions that provide holistic care. If you want your children to excel academically, there is no better place to live in Brampton than Forest Hill.

There’s also a unique sense of community within Forest Hill with events such as street parties and food fairs taking place throughout warmer months. It should come as no surprise then that so many people from all over Canada choose homes here – many opting for luxury condos such as Tuscany Gardens at Chinguacousy Road & Derry Road West or Royal Orchard Condos on McLaughlin Road North by Wilson Street. If you have your heart set on an actual house however, be prepared to pay up – properties here can easily cost upwards of $800,000 or even $1 million!
